LA Auto show 2013

We are extremely pleased to present our coverage on LA Auto show. In recently years a lot of automakers have made concentrate efforts on making this event delightful for spectators. We believe it also because of the car culture that strongly exists in this part of the world. To be honest automakers reflect the ideas of people in finest and absolute form. we take you through some of the concept and production cars presented in this show.
Honda FCEV


Honda Hydrogen fuel concept
Many automakers are in pursuit of finding the next big technological revolution in the auto industry. Hydrogen fuel cell technology is something everyone putting their money on. Honda as one of the largest automakers seems to be on a quest to find a perfect power plant with radical styling. We would like to appreciate this styling direction with clean,simple and sci-fi inspired.However it fails to create this a impression as Honda.
Lack of brand language and identity communications is evident. The overall proportions of the car and graphic balance is excellent. Rear wheel covered with aeronautical style detail. Strong graphics connect in the front with logo and headlamp integrated. The front facia has additional intake like details to direct the airflow and achieve air flow efficiency.There is not much we can be critical about when it comes to designers work. The real question we would to ask how it can excite a customer to buy this style?. There needs to be well-directed efforts to communicate the advance technology rather than just creating aerodynamic sculpture. Since this vehicle was just shown as hard-model we also not very sure if the company has any real plans to put this vehicle on road. In the future as people may find hydrogen fuel as viable option, Honda wants to be ready with a product that offers Japanese reliability.
Mercedes AMG Vision GT concept

We would to appreciate the masterpiece execution from Mercedes design team. This was real the show-stopper of the event. Advance design team from Germany and USA have worked immensely in creating this concept car. PSD proportions, surfacing and detailing are the key to any car design. We can see it followed as thumb rule for sculpting this vehicle. Very true to its German design philosophy to create volumes and reducing line-work evoking sensuality through play of light and shadow. It reminds us of this experimental high-speed automobile by name w125 rekordwagen. Intended to show the technological capabilities of the MB engineering. Of course front grille graphics isn't any close to any Mercedes car we see today. This particular design we need not be overcritical with graphical and surfacing resemblance to today's MB lineup.This is interesting design exercise of what to call a Mercedes!. 
Ford Edge Concept

The Ford egde concept presented in this show finds to have good balance between concept and production design. This design suggest us it is more evolutionary step. Ford is all set to offer this vehicle as replacement for mid-size cross-over . Design is more bold with front grille very typical to the taste of American buyers. Designer have made sincere efforts to rationalize all the lines which is rather German in nature. We can understand Ford is searching new definition of American premium feeling. Since it needs to compete with German rivals it needs more design differentiation.We believe this concept has good potential and logical step by the brand.
Porsche Macan

Porsche Macan is definitely production design hero of this event. Porsche is very much purist towards its design approach as we know. It is quite a challenge to repeatedly apply Porsche design equation to different platforms. In this case to a small SUV format to be precise. We must appreciate the design team effort to create the same Newfeel factor with Porsche brand language. We can debate on the fact how the product actually fits the Porsche line-up. However lets put this question why won't a customer want a Porsche experience in a small SUV. In Asian markets and specially in the Indian market the sucess of BMW X1 and Audi Q5 is a sign that customers are looking for rational and trim to adapt the market condition design.Exterior has clue for typical to Porsche's.With rear design instantly recalling 911 design. Rear taillamp is quite deep seated with elegant design finish.  To customers aware of Panamera he might find interiors of this car a little familiar but he can cherish on sophisticated yet simple interior volume. Interiors has aircraft cockpit like centre console fused with buttons to do many things. Overall Macan is well crafted product and definitely impress the design community.
